🎥 How to Re-Activate Your Magnetic Tack Hammer
Antonia MarinoIf you use a magnetic tack hammer, you’ll know how handy it is for holding tacks in place. But over time, the magnet can lose strength, making the job harder than it needs to be. The good news? It’s easy to re-magnetise your hammer at home with a simple bar magnet.
How to re-magnetise your tack hammer
1. Grab your magnetic tack hammer and a strong bar magnet.
2. Find the magnetic end of your hammer—the side designed to hold your tacks.
3. Place one end of the bar magnet against the right side of the hammer’s split head. Leave it there for a few minutes to transfer some magnetic energy.
4. Next, flip the bar magnet around and place the other end on the left side of the split. Leave it for a few more minutes.
5. That’s it! Test your hammer by picking up a few tacks.
If the magnetism still feels weak, repeat the process a couple more times. With a bit of patience, your hammer should be back to grabbing tacks like it used to.
